Jean Crawford, Contributing Editor
As
President of crawfordconnect,
Jean provides recruitment and retention solutions exclusively
to the nonprofit community. Her more than 20 years of executive management experience includes
senior management positions at a university, hospital foundations
and a national charity. At the forefront of fundraising,
strategic planning and board governance issues, she also
serves as a consultant to local national charitable organizations.
Jean has written and spoken extensively in all areas of the nonprofit
sector from management to fundraising, in a leading industry
magazine, in a chapter in the Non-profit
Handbook 2000 and most recently in the Globe
and Mail. She writes a regular column about issues affecting
hiring and retention for Canadian FundRaiser,
is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences,
and has developed a Competency
Dictionary for key positions in the nonprofit sector.
Jean is the founder of the Flare
Magazine Volunteer Awards, a national award that recognizes
outstanding young women volunteers. She serves on the Board
of the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy, the Editorial Advisory
Board of Canadian FundRaiser and
is a contributing member of the Association of Fundraising
Professionals and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.
Jean holds the designation of Fellow in the Association
for Healthcare Philanthropy, the highest accreditation in
the philanthropic sector.
