Barbara Fanning, Contributing Editor,
Donor Research
Barbara
is the Director of Development Research at the University
Health Network in Toronto, Ontario, which comprises three foundations:
The Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation, the
Arthritis & Autoimmunity Research Centre Foundation
and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Previously,
Barbara managed the fundraising research activities at the
University of Toronto. She obtained her M.L.S. from the
University of Toronto.
A
strong advocate for the profession of fundraising research,
Barbara is the first Canadian researcher to be elected to
the Board of Directors of the U.S.-based Association of
Professional Researchers for Advancement. She has presented
at the international conferences of the APRA and the Association
of Fundraising Professionals, as well as the Toronto chapter meetings of the AFP, APRA-Canada
and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. She has written
articles for APRA
Connections, and Canadian FundRaiser.
She is a founding member of APRA's
first international chapter, APRA-Canada.
