Allan Arlett, Chair, Editorial Advisory Board

A Partner in the Arlett van Rotterdam Partnership, Allan has played a unique role the charity field in Canada. He co-founded the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy and served as its CEO for its first decade, during which he initiated the Centrešs national program to encourage giving and volunteering, IMAGINE. Allan developed the Canadian Directory to Foundations serving as its editor for 20 years. The Centre established the Allan Arlett Award for Excellence in Philanthropic Research in recognition of his contribution to the field. Having started his career in fundraising and nonprofit management directly from university in 1964, Allan has worked in both Canada and the United States. He directed award-winning programs in the US in both fundraising and constituency relations. His writings have been published in books and journals internationally. A past board member of AFP (Toronto), Allan chaired its first conference.
